Martabat PJ aims to fight for an inclusive, healthy and sustainable life including a commitment to reduce, if not eradicate, poverty and hunger for all. Although we are still a young civil society organization, our achievements have far exceeded our founding goals.
About Us

OUR STORY
Martabat PJ, formerly known as PPR PJ, began in 2018 as a volunteer led initiative under the office of the former Member of Parliament for Petaling Jaya. As a community-based human rights organisation, we are committed to combatting discrimination, gender inequality and human rights violations, in particular to build the capacity of women and youth, so that they can build a better future. Specifically, we are determined to develop resources geared towards the needs of the marginalised communities; advocate for right-based reforms and programmes in the community so as to develop democratic leadership among people through their participation in community programmes.
OUR AIM
THEORY OF CHANGE

WHOLE COMMUNITY APPROACH

Our current aim is to support marginalised groups of people in order to enrich their skills, reach their full potential, and influence change. This is done through peer-led programmes of volunteering; social action projects; the building of skills and assets; developing competencies and by fostering healthy relationships; strengthening the environment; transforming systems; and amplifying the voices of the marginalised groups with key decision makers. It is imperative to meaningfully engage with our target communities to create positive social change for themselves, their families, and their communities so that everyone can thrive.
